Atriax Project Snapshots
Design for the U.S. Forest Service at Sherando Lake Recreation Area
Our architecture, interiors, and civil teams are making great progress on the design for renovation, rehabilitation, and construction of multiple facilities at the Sherando Lake Recreation Area in George Washington and Jefferson National Forest. Often referred to as the Crown Jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains, exceptional consideration has been given to the historic preservation of existing structures and maintaining the character and aesthetics of the recreation area and its facilities. Civil engineers are focusing on site improvements, restoring functionality to the boat launch, trails, and picnic areas with ABA accessibility standards a top priority.
Shout out to Hal Marvin, Tony Ruppard, Brian Broussard, Jody Blake, and Will McCarrick for their diligence moving this project along!

Despite the severe impact of Hurricane Helene in Caldwell County, NC, work continues at an uninterrupted pace at the new EMS facility in Cajah's Mountain. With 100% of internal and external demolition complete, work is concluding in the existing building on the under-slab plumbing for the new bathrooms. Exterior foundation work for the new additions of the sleeping quarters and ambulance training bay is complete with block walls now under construction. The new metal building has been delivered to the site with installation scheduled for December.
