Update GIS Data

Update GIS Data

Charleston Air Force Base – Joint Base Charleston

What We Did

The goal of this effort was to catalog, scrub and migrate the Geographic Information System (GIS) data at the Weapons Station into the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) 2.6 data model. Once the migration was completed, the Weapons Station GeoBase data was merged into the Air Base GeoBase data. The Atriax Team assessed more than 200 MB of geospatial vector data contained in 166 feature classes and identified 62 empty feature classes in the JB CHS GeoBase schema. These empty feature classes were then approved by JB CHS staff for use in merging Weapons Station data into Air Base data. Atriax conducted a draft merge of two feature classes (railroad centerline and cadaster installation area) to serve as tests before completing the final merge.
