Repair Critical Façade Deficiencies – Phase II
Repair Critical Façade Deficiencies – Phase II
Department of Veterans Affairs – Durham VA Medical Center, Durham, NC
What We Did
This project involved the investigation and repair of the failing façade on a 1950’s brick building – there were cracked and spalling masonry with few expansion joints. A highly constrained project budget required prioritization of repair actions; a selective identification of bid deducts to minimize negative impacts to project objectives; a significant and thorough field investigation to validate existing failed conditions, and; an invasive investigation to confirm presence of asbestos containing materials.
